Editorial policy
Modern Culture Journal aims to make cultural interpretation clear, fair and useful. We distinguish verifiable details from analysis, identify uncertainty where it matters, and correct published errors openly.
Accuracy and context
We check names, dates, quotations and other factual details against reliable material available for the subject. Interpretive claims are presented as readings, not settled facts. When context is disputed or incomplete, we say so rather than implying certainty.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for relevance to readers and fit with the Journal's subject. Commercial relationships do not determine our conclusions. We do not present a partner's preferred view as independent editorial judgment.
Corrections
Readers may report an error through the Contact page. We review specific correction requests and, when a factual correction is warranted, amend the article and make the change clear in its context.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled wherever it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; these are identified when used, and are not presented as documentary evidence.
Culture is never just background
The things we watch, share and recognize can carry more than one meaning. We make room for context, change and thoughtful disagreement.
